Week 16

Friday July 8-Thursday July 14

Sorry no picture this week. It was a super busy week, and I just never got around to it.

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Saturday July 9: It's so nice having Manny off for the summer! We've been able to spend tons of time together. Which is a nice change after a busy school year. We went to a muni pool in Nampa. Manny said we have to go there so we don't see any of his Borah students at any of the Boise muni's. Oh the life of a teacher.

Monday July 11: Doctor's appoint. It went really well.  We heard the heartbeat again. 170 this time. Still just beating along. Manny is such a proud dad. He's started calling our little one Baby Strongheat. The doctor told me I need to start putting on weight by my next visit. Green light to eat whatever I want! Awesome! If I can eat it that is :)

Tuesday July 12: I made the appointment for the ultrasound. I think it's kinda weird that we only have one ultrasound during the whole pregnancy. We are so excited to see our little one and find out the gender. Even though Manny says he's 97% positive it's a girl. I guess we'll see how good on August 1!

Wednesday July 14: We're such nerds! About 8 o'clock Manny and I started to try to buy midnight seeing for Harry Potter 7. We had to go out to the Nampa Edwards to get them and they only had 3D left. So we bought the tickets, and came back at 11 so we could get good seats for the movie. We get to the parking lot and no one is there yet. We decide to wait a few minutes, and I decided to check the date on the tickets. It's not til Thursday night! We're nerds, but at least we're nerds together.

Thursday July 13: The annual Varela Family Campout starts. Too bad school is lame and I can't miss clinicals on Friday. So Manny and I will be heading out Friday for the fun. Can't wait to see everyone! Didn't barf this week YAY!

WBT:  Don't second guess yourself when you think you've felt the baby kick. Most likely you did!

Week 15

 Friday July 1-Thursday July 7

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Friday July 1: Manny and I headed to Utah for the fireworks at Utah State. We look forward to this every year. This year was a little disappointing because we weren't allowed to bring food in the stadium. Nevertheless, the fireworks show was spectacular!

Saturday July 2-Monday July 4: We were able to hang out in Bear Lake we my family. We ate some food, more food, and even more food. We love spending the fourth in Bear Lake! Thanks everyone for making it a great fourth again!

Monday July 4: While driving home from Mountain Home, I started feeling a little queasy. Neither of us felt like making dinner so we picked up a pizza when we got to Boise. I had one piece and still wasn't feeling great. About 10 o'clock I decided I'd had enough and took a Phenergan my doctor gave me. 10:15 I found myself running to the bathroom...Manny said, "Use the kitchen sick!" Good thing cause I don't think I would have made it to the toilet. The rest of the night I spent going back and forth to the bathroom. Needless to say, it was not a good night. I am very grateful for my wonderful husband who held my hair back, washed down the chuckiness, and worried about me through the night! We both took Tuesday off and Manny took care of me all day. He's amazing! All five of my readers :) probably think all I do is puke, but really I've had a wonderful pregnancy expect for the brief periods of weakness I put on here.

Thursday July 8: I think I felt the baby kicking or "quickening" if I'm being technical. I'm not really sure, but I wanted to post it just in case it really was the baby, maybe it was just gas, but I wanted to put it down just it case it really was the day I first felt my little one. I'll confirm it later if it really was or not.

WBT: I don't have any wisdom to offer this week...maybe next week.

Week 14

Friday June 24-Thursday June 30

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Friday June 24: Barfed again today! I'm starting to think this is a regular thing for me! Not fun at all! Peaches and pickles together are not the best combination to barf. I'm just glad that it was Friday and there weren't very many people at school in the morning as I'm running past everyone to try to make it to the toilet. I finally took a picture! Manny was so funny about it. He looked at "our" blog and saw what I was doing. Ten o'clock at night he got all excited and made me change my clothes so he could take a picture. He says I have to wear the same outfit every time.

I think I've been trying to put off the picture for as long as I could. I don't feel like I look pregnant at all yet...just fat :) Hopefully here soon I'll look more prego and less fato.

Friday June 24- Sunday June 26: We went camping with Rick, Krystal, the girls, Guel, and Lacy. It was a lot of fun and absolutely in the middle of nowhere! Manny was finally able to go fishing, and I was able to relax and work on my tan.

Monday June 27: After two years, Manny and I finally went to a Boise Hawks game. It was the perfect Boise night. No wind, warm but not too warm, and great seats. It was a great date night! Thank honey!

WBT: Pickles and pickle juice, no matter how good they sound, are not good on the empty morning stomach for breakfast.

GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK: Not barf.

Week 13

Friday June 17-Thursday June 23

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Friday June 17: Friday I got the phone call! The crib is in! We had to borrow Rick's pick-up because the box is huge! It's just sitting out in the garage, waiting to be set up. I'm trying not to think about it, or else I'll go crazy.

Saturday Jun 18: Basketball is finally over! His team went 6 and 1 at the Idaho Summer Shootout this weekend. It's good to have a little break from ball for ahile. Goodbye basketball. I cannot say I will miss you, but see you again in October!

Wednesday June 22: Barfed today...pita pit not as good as orange juice the second time around. Manny finally got new glasses. He feels like a new man now!

WBT: While cleaning out the fridge and you think you might not like the smell of something, wait and ask your husband to do it!

I couldn't find my battery charger for the camera so again no picture this week, but it's okay I still don't have a visible baby bump that you could see with clothes :)

Week 12

Friday June 10-Thursday June 16

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Friday June 10: Manny had to coach a basketball tournament Friday and Saturday, and we had a little time to kill between games Friday night so we decided we'd go to BabiesRus. We weren't planning on buying anything at all. We just wanted to check out prices. As we were browsing furniture we came upon a beautiful crib, checked the price, and had to do a double take. 99 dollars! We couldn't believe it! The regular sale price was $399.99! We had to order it since the cheapest crib we've seen was at Wal-Mart for $149. I'm so proud of our great deal we got. It should be here tomorrow, and it's going to take everything in me to not rip it out of it's package and set it up right away.

Monday June 13: Manny had his 29th birthday. He wanted golf clubs so we combined with his anniversary gift and got him clubs. He only wanted to BBQ for his birthday so I made carne asada and my guacamole salsa. It was a pretty relaxing birthday, but after how busy Manny has been lately it's just what the doctor ordered.

Tuesday June 14: I found my first smell aversion...cooking meat. Sick! Just after eating breakfast I found myself face-to-face with my porcelain friend. Not the best morning I've ever had. Just writing about it makes me want to gag!

WBT: Orange juice taste the same going down as it does going up. Chew bagels up really good less you might risk having it lodged in your throat.

That's it for this week. Sorry no pictures...next week.

Week 11

Friday June 3- Thursday June 9

Two posts in one day! What has gotten into me?! I want to back-track a week because week 11 was really exciting for us.

EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
Thursday June 2-Saturday June 5: I went to Bear Lake to visit for my sister's birthday. I had tons of fun and bought a dresser for the baby room. Yard sale! Forty bucks! I'm going to refinish it...one of these days.

Monday June 6: We were able to hear the heart beat! One of the most heart warming sounds I have ever heard! My first OB appointment was during week 7. My doctor didn't know an U/S or even talk to me. The nurse that works with my doctor just did a general visit and got my baseline starting point. I peed in a cup, got my blood drawn, and that was it. So I still had that what if I'm really not pregnant in the back of my head especially since I hadn't had really any pregnancy symptoms. The heart rate was 174...pretty fast. There's a old wife's tale that boys have a heart rate below 160 and girls are above 160. I guess we'll see if this is true in a few weeks.

WISDOM BY TY (WBT): Take your phone with you when you get to hear the heart beat for the first time to record it. I tried to upload my file on here, but it's the wrong format.

That's it for week 11. Week 12 coming tomorrow.

New Blog Project

So I've decided I'm not very good at this blogging thing...shocker! Since I don't really like taking about myself, don't have that much to day in the first place, not a very god writer, and never make any posts on facebook, I figured the chances of me being a blogger seemed pretty unlikely.

Manny and I celebrated (or lack there of) our two year anniversary a few weeks ago. I was at clinical and came down with a migraine, and any one who knows anything about my migraines knows they're a day killer. I came home at eight, slept til two and layed in bed til seven. Manny came home around four brought me home some Sprite and crackers...thanks Honey! He then left to go get our favorit pizza from Dominos, came home and ate pizza in the living room by himself...sad! I did end up rolling out of bed and having a piece then went right back to bed at nine. Not the most exciting anniversary ever!

I am starting going to start a blogging project to try and help me stay on this blogging thing. Suprise! I'm pregnant! Tomorrow I will be 13 weeks. We are really excited! My goal is every Friday post what happened during the prious week with a picture so I can document my pregnancy and be able to remember what happened. I'm really excited to try this and interested to watch the visual change of what is going on each week. See you tomorrow for my first weekly pregnancy post!
